ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF MY TREK
My interactions with the Tanzanian guides and porters was one of the highlights of my trek. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive. Wonderful people! Always with a smile and a cheery "Jambo!" when they passed me on the trail.
My personal porter was a young man named Rashid. He was very safety conscious and was always close by on the tricky parts of the climb. I enjoyed talking and joking with Rashid during our daily treks. On summit day my cameras battery died on me. Rashid saved the day my taking summit photos for me and sending them to me by email.
